This years Bound for Glory vol. 2 is one hell of a mag. The Free Nyki Poetry Contest was huge successes, receiving hundreds of submissions from all across Canada, the U.S. and as far as India, Ireland and Iran.
As said before, the contest was judged and the poems featured in the mag were selected by wrongfully convicted poet/musician Nyki Kish, who is currently serving a life sentence for a crime she obviously did not commit (learn more @ http://www.freenyki.org/)
We also have an exciting array of contributors for Bound for Glory vol.2 this year. We have poetry from women incarcerated in Canadian prison, art and poetry form those on death row and those that have been exonerated. In addition to this, we have an exclusive interview with Hamilton’s own phenomenon Horror in the Hammer and a story from Canada’s iconic punk rock author, Chris Walter.
However, despite our great gains, we have suffered great losses. First with the wrongful conviction of Nyki and then followed by the sudden loss of our dear friend and co-founder Ashton Grey. So with a cheers to our fallen brother, we pay homage to him in volume 2 BFG as well. Cheers.
